Meet Your Technician: Eddy Montes

Halsey & Griffith prides itself on the quality of service we give our customers. But we couldn’t do it without employing some of the most talented and experienced technicians in South Florida. Halsey customers love our techs – so we thought we’d let you get to know them a little better with our Meet Your Technician series. This month, we’d like you to get to know Eddy Montes.

How long have your worked at Halsey & Griffith?
I have been at Halsey & Griffith since September 2000. Almost 13 years now.

What areas do you service?
I service part of Broward County and part of Miami Dade County.

What is your favorite thing about being a Halsey Service Technician?
My favorite thing about being a tech at Halsey & Griffith is that, from the beginning, this company seems to be family orientated and to care about its techs and also its customers. And so far that has not changed.

What was your biggest challenge on a job and how did you resolve it?
The biggest challenge in this field is customer relations. How one deals with the different personalities encountered on a daily basis is what is challenging about this line of work. Once I mastered that, and coupled with my training and the resources provided to me, repairing the machines was the easy part.

Have you always been tech savvy? When did you know that you had an aptitude for maintaining complex machinery?
I have always been tech savvy to my recollection. I have always been very good at fixing stuff since I was a little boy. And to this day I’m my family’s “repairman”.

What’s the one tip you would give customers to keep their machines running their best?
The one tip that I would give to our customers is to take care of the copier as if it were their personal belonging, not just their company’s. Ask their salesperson and their techs lots of questions. Read the provided manual sometimes, so they are informed about the unit they have.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to play with and coach my 3 sons at soccer and basketball. I also love a good book.
